ARCHERY IN EDINBURGH
If you ever secretly wanted to play Robin Hood and his merry men with your mates then now is your big chance!. Get your tights on and head for our purpose-built archery facility in the wooded depths of Kirknewton.
Enjoy one of the most ancient and noble sports with a session of archery. Archery is clearly an activity that needs a steady hand, so it may be best to breathalyse the lads or arrange for a late morning start.
Unfortunately, there’s no Sheriff of Nottingham to aim for but we are confident that your band of merry men will have a great time learning how to send those feathered arrows through the air and hit the bull’s eye target at our woodland archery venue. Feel the thrill as your arrow splits your competitors to take the glory – or not!
With experienced tuition you’ll quickly understand how to load the bow and shoot like a skilled marksman, putting your archery skills into practice for around an hour at this tranquil glade in the middle of Kirknewton woodland.
Our Archery Range is built to a high spec offering a variety of targets and distances encouraging natural progression and achievement. Hugely satisfying skill to develop with a “thwack” of the arrow hitting the bull. For the purpose of clarity that would be a bullseye and not any nearby live stock.
Allow spending an hour and a half on-site. Your archery experience includes a welcome and safety briefing, an introduction to the equipment, and around an hour on the archery range. Exact timings will vary depending on the numbers on the day. All equipment and tuition are provided.
ED STAG TIP OF THE DAY
Gentleman Archery is the art, practice, or skill of propelling arrows with the use of a bow ideally at a target and not your mates. If in doubt for guaranteed success just have a few beers and kid on your playing darts on an oversize board. Does that make sense?.

Our Archery facility is located on the outskirts of the city which is around 20 minutes drive from the city centre. You can either arrange your own transport or we can arrange for our luxury minibus will collect you at your accommodation and get you to and from the event.
